From
the Desk of Robert Jacobson,
WANTED:
Make sure you’re the best: Upgrade your training and gain insights from colleagues in the delightful and historical ambience of the Northwest Hills of Connecticut in Litchfield. Our APS Litchfield 2001 Coordinator Training Conference is scheduled for July 26-31. Contact Executive Secretary and newsletter Associate Editor Donna Matura at secretary@a-p-s.org to make your reservations. Applications must be received no later than May 15. This event follows our training session last June in London for 19 Coordinators who are Institutional Members of the Association. The continuation of this Coordinator training this year is important to your continuing growth, along with the establishment of an advanced course of Coordinator training, which is under development. At our session in Litchfield, you will not only learn a great deal, but you will also be able to network with your fellow Coordinators from around the world, discuss common issues and socialize. Please remember, as Institutional Members of the Association of Productivity Specialists, you have front row seats to this training event. For those of you attending from around the world, basic English will be all that is necessary. All of the training costs, speaker fees, textbooks and meals during this four-day event are paid for by the Association and are at NO COST to you and the organization you work for. This is the equivalent value of more than $6,000USD per coordinator. All your organization is responsible for are your travel costs and hotel accommodations. A brochure will soon be forthcoming with extensive details on this tremendous learning opportunity. DON’T PROCRASTINATE!! Set these dates aside; make sure you budget your funds with your client organization. Reserve your space now at this important and useful event. If you don’t, you will miss out on the exciting speakers and trainers who are scheduled to attend. Just one of those world-class speakers is Dr. Victor Vroom, the John G. Searle Professor of Management at Yale University. Dr. Vroom is a noted author and trainer on the important subjects of Decision Making and Leadership – both of which are extraordinarily important topics for any ambitious Coordinator. Imagine a thousand square miles of un-spoiled natural beauty. These are the Litchfield Hills in Litchfield, Connecticut, USA, at the foot of the Berkshire mountain range. The green pastures of the Thunder Ridge International Training Center will be your home for APS Coordinator Training. Litchfield is home to the first law school in the United States, and has several fine restaurants. Music and arts festivals are scheduled throughout the summer in neighboring towns, and there is live theater at the restored Warner in Torrington. Coordinator Training will be held partially in conjunction with the IMPAC Worldwide Summer Meeting. Coordinators will partake in some of the IMPAC training activities, as well as the sports day and Black Tie dinner. Best regards, Bob
