From
the Desk of Robert Jacobson,
APS Chairman CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS
IN BENEFITS FOR APS MEMBERS
As As the APS Litchfield 2001 Coordinator
Training Conference will be upon us shortly, your APS staff continues to
expand vital services.
One significant new benefit for the top
executive member of our institutional members is access to Strat-For's
"The Global Intelligence Report," a cutting-edge e-mail news
service offering the inside story on business, political and military
maneuvers around the world. A report in May, for example, told readers
of this exclusive report how Beijing has stepped up contacts in unusual
and remote locations in the South Pacific. Analysis further
enlightened readers about the potential impact on them, their businesses
and their nations. These daily news briefings and analyses are
just a few of the new services brought to you by APS.
Our Website, www.a-p-s.org, now offers
confidential resume placement, upcoming events and the newsletter. The
site also features a host of practical and stimulating links. Currently
we have close to 100 links which will connect you to virtually every
piece of available business information over the Internet.
Links, via "Portal to Productivity,
include:
- Business News - Business Week Magazine, The Economist,
The Financial Times, Forbes, Fortune,
Wall Street Journal;
- Computer Software;
- Headline News Outlets;
- Human Resource Tools;
- Investing;
- Internet Search Engines;
- Leadership;
- Leisure;
- Professional Organizations;
- Research Tools;
- Travel and Weather.
These offerings make APS a major destination
for the Productivity Specialist, business or government leader and
journalist. "I was amazed to see so many quality links at the
APS Portal to Productivity," a journalist told me recently.
"This is a very impressive service that is bound to become well
known across the globe."
Indeed, as with all other APS missions and
services, it is the membership that ensures quality and effectiveness.
There is a special link for us, "Submit a Site," asking the
question, "Do you have a web site you would like to suggest?"
This is your Web Site and your APS. Join me now
in making our organization stronger and better. I look forward to seeing
you in Litchfield July 26-31.
Best regards,
Bob
